2011 Counoise

As in years past, our Counoise is hand picked from Fess Parker's Rodney's vineyard in Los Olivos.  Counoise is one of those weirdo 'blending grapes' that's found in the Rhône Valley in France.  Our version has a nose of licorice, leather, and black cherries. The mouth is medium weight and slightly rustic, yet balanced by cherry, red currant, and bittersweet chocolate flavors.  The fresh acid finishes bright and juicy.  There is not much of this grape planted around, and we didn't make that much, so act accordingly.
