An old name, put back.
Berl Potek left Romania in 1917 and worked the fabric trade in New York. Within a few years the paperwork said Potter, and it stayed that way for three generations — an overture towards assimilation, made slowly, one document at a time.
The name is back on the bottle. The letterforms come from old Romanian type, the patterns from the textiles he would have known, and the same patterns run through the tile in the tasting room on Haley.
We bring Old World technique to California fruit. Adapting a method to new ground is the family business.

Back to the same vineyards.
We’ve made Riesling from Kick On Ranch since 2009. For the 2024 vintage, the fruit spent about ten days on its skins before we pressed it to neutral oak to finish fermentation.
We bottled 74 cases and six magnums of our 2024 Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir on August 14, 2026. The fruit comes from the vineyard’s original 1971 own-rooted plantings.
