Pinot Noir
California Pinot Noir, made small-batch in Santa Barbara County. Our Pinot program sources from some of the Central Coast's most respected sites — Sanford & Benedict, Santa Rita Hills — vineyards that have defined what Pinot Noir can be on the California coast. These are cool-climate Pinots: marine fog off the Pacific keeps acid fresh, phenolics ripen slowly, and the finished wines trade power for transparency.
You'll find two approaches here. Potek Winery makes single-vineyard Pinots under winemaker Dave Potter — restrained, structured, built to age. Muni Wine's Pinot is looser and more immediate — the kind of bottle you pull on a Tuesday without overthinking it. Both are made in our Santa Barbara County facility, bottled unfiltered when possible, and released in small quantities.
Every Pinot on this page is shippable direct to most US states, and wine club members save on every order. If you're new to California Pinot Noir or specifically to the Santa Rita Hills AVA, the single-vineyard Sanford & Benedict is the benchmark pour to start with. For lighter, chillable-style Pinot, reach for anything we've tagged as an everyday pour.
Small production means allocations sell out. If a bottle below is available, it's in stock right now and ready to ship. Club members get first access to new releases before public launch — a practical reason to join if you drink Pinot regularly.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Santa Barbara Pinot Noir different from Sonoma or Willamette Valley?
Cooler, foggier, and more maritime. Santa Rita Hills in particular runs east-west, which funnels Pacific air inland and gives Pinot longer hang time at lower temperatures. The result is brighter acid and more red-fruit/savory expression versus the broader-fruited Pinots from Russian River or the Willamette.
How should I store and serve these Pinots?
Cellar side: 55°F, on their side, stable. Serving: 60-65°F is the sweet spot — cooler than most people pour red. A 20-minute chill in the fridge before opening is usually right.
Which Pinot should I start with?
If you're new to our lineup, the Sanford & Benedict single-vineyard is the most complete introduction. For everyday drinking, the Muni Pinot is built for it.
Can you ship Pinot Noir to my state?
We ship to most US states. Checkout will surface any restrictions for your address before you pay.
