These delicately smoked filets of trout are from Denmark, where they are sustainably farmed and certified by the ASC. After the filets are smoked, they are packed boneless and skinless in tins with rapeseed oil. Serve it in the classic Danish smørrebrød style on rye bread with creme fraiche with capers, red onion, cucumbers & lemon. It's an easy and delicious addition to a salad where the flavorful oil it's packed in makes a great base for a dressing. Or whip it up into a trout mousse with aioli and fresh herbs.

We were a bit intimidated by a “dessert wine” at first, afraid that it would be heavy or syrupy. The End was a happy disprover of all our fears. It smells just like a walnut or fruitcake, has a light mouthfeel, and yet just a little goes a long way! We brought it to a family Christmas party and it was finished well before “the end” of the night!
