Counoise is a black grape grown primarily in the Rhone Valley of France that is typically used as a blending grape. It is one of the more rarified varietals in red Chateauneuf du Pape, and while varietal southern French versions are made, Counoise is not widely grown outside of the region. As a vine, it leafs and ripens late and yields conservatively. As a wine, it is not deeply colored or alcoholic, but adds lift, a peppery note, and lively acidity to a blend.

Our grapes were sourced from a coolish mesa in Santa Barbara County-Rodney’s Vineyard. This wine was made by hand-picking the grapes, then fermenting on skins for about 10 days. We matured in neutral old French oak barrels. It was racked once. We bottled 4 barrels in May of 2022. This wine is approachable upon release and should be in its prime over the next 3 years.

Tropic Punch of my DREAMS

Okay let me start by saying that this chilled summer red is a WINNER. she's GORG, juicy and as the description read, has major grow woman "fruit punch" energy. It was a blazing hot summer evening here in Long Beach, CA last week. I decided to take an ice cold polar bear style shower (luxurious), slip into my favorite silky robe that I got on my last trip to Singapore, and apply roughly 8 hydrating skincare products before my pizza order arrived. I then retreated to my ice cold air conditioned bedroom with my chilled bottle of Counoise and had a really cute date night with my bf and silky pug. This sipped really beautifully and cut through the red sauce and cheese nicely.

Love everything Team Muni puts out into the world. Thanks for contributing to date night. The vibes were immaculate.
