We love Riesling!  It is the most aromatic, lightest, most transparent and brilliant in flavor of all the white grapes.  It is the Brightest white wine.

The dry, refreshing style of this wine was inspired by the fantastic Rieslings of Australia who, when young can be steely, sometimes to the point of austerity, then develop a lime-like, very refreshing fruit quality with age and can eventually become quite toasty and honeyed.

Bright White is made from hand-picked Riesling grapes sourced from Kick On Ranch in the Los Alamos area of Santa Barbara County.  2009 was a great vintage, blessed by an even, long growing season that produced intense flavors while maintaining natural acids.  The fruit for this wine was whole-bunch pressed, early in the morning to minimize damage to the juice.  Only the first (free-run) fraction of the juice was then cold settled and fermented long, cold, and slow in stainless steel.  Contact with air was avoided at every step.  The utmost care was taken to maximize freshness, purity, and brightness.

This wine is delicious upon release, but those with patience will be rewarded over the next 5-10 years as it develops those curiously tasty toasty lemon butter and kerosene characters of aged riesling.  Wine is always changing, but at bottling, 2009 Bright White is pale straw in color.  It shows pure aromas of white flowers, mineral, talc, and cut limes.  The mouth is focused with mouth-watering acidity, grapefruit, pear, and mineral flavors.  This Riesling is awesome with exotic, spicy, and fragrant foods . . . fresh Thai green curry, duck and plum sauce, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, sashimi, and cold salads.
