The Best Barrel is a single-barrel selection of our best wine produced in a vintage.
In 2007, the Best Barrel of wine in the cellar was Cabernet from Star Lane Vineyard. This vineyard has been producing some very exciting wines for Star Lane over the past few years and is really starting to come into its prime of expression.
The Best Barrel bottling is only 25 cases and was aged in oak for 30 months – a serious wine that is built for aging.

2007 DARK RED
Dark Red was inspired by ‘The Great Australian Red’. The shiraz-cabernet is an Australian institution. It's their unique, definitive red, and a style that we Muni Winemakers have been heavily influenced by. Star Lane Cabernet is full of perfume and blessed with plenty of acidity and fine tannin structure. The Tierra Alta and Camp Four Syrah have generous weight and flesh making the blend more full in the mid-palate.
